Professor Hashim U. Ahmed

Professor & Chair of UrologyProf. Ahmed is an internationally renowned expert in prostate cancer diagnosis, imaging and biopsy as well as minimally invasive therapies for prostate cancer. His research interests are in health technology evaluation including MRI, histoscanning, tissue type imaging and therapeutic interventions.
Prof. Ahmed is the chair of the NCRI Prostate Group, and an NIHR Senior Investigator. He has previously held an MRC Clinician Scientist Fellowship and Senior Clinical Research Fellowship from the Wellcome Trust. -
Mr Mathias Winkler

Adjunct ReaderMr Winkler is a consultant urologist and pelvic minimally invasive surgeon. He has a strong academic background in surgical pelvic oncology and a major interest in imaging biomarker development and prostate cancer biomarker validation. His special interests are in minimally-invasive treatments for prostate cancer and prostate imaging.

Mr Manit Arya

Mr Arya is currently one of the largest volume prostate HIFU and cryotherapy surgeons in Europe. He is an internationally recognised mentor for both focal prostate HIFU and cryotherapy in the treatment of prostate cancer.
Mr Arya has a specialist interest in the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer. He offers the latest diagnostic advancements including contrast enhanced multi-parametric MRI of the prostate and template transperineal prostate biopsies

Mr Taimur T. Shah

Mr Shah has a specialist interest in prostate cancer diagnostics, imaging, robotic surgery, focal therapy for prostate cancer, and minimally invasive treatments for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals within these fields and been invited to give presentations nationally and internationally. Mr Shah was previously the vice chair of the British Urology Researchers in surgical training (BURST) research collaborative. -
Mr Martin J. Connor

Mr Connor’s primary research interests are in the role of PSMA PET/CT in high-risk prostate cancer, local cytoreductive therapy and metastasis-directed therapies for men with newly-diagnosed metastatic prostate cancer.
He has received grant funding from the NIHR, Wellcome Trust (PhD Doctoral Research Fellow) and UCLH Charity. He is also the national research fellow for the RCT IP2-ATLANTA and the co-PI for the multicentre study IP5-MATTER.
